Black Country Challenge Year 2

We are now offering more schools the opportunity to take part in a new range of programmes.

Please click here for further details.

In the past year, over 100 schools in Walsall, Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Dudley have benefitted from Challenge advice, support and funding to help them raise attainment and improve outcomes for pupils. The provisional KS2 and KS4 results indicate that many of these schools have made significant progress over the past year. This is excellent news that reflects the hard work being done by school leaders, their staff and of course pupils themselves.

With this in mind, we are now launching or extending a range of targeted programmes to:

  • support leadership development,
  • support teaching and learning,
  • raise aspirations, and
  • narrow attainment gaps between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.

We are inviting all schools to participate in one or more of the new Black Country Challenge funded programmes.

This offer represents a unique opportunity for Black Country schools in 2009/10 and 2010/11 – made possible by the additional funding that Black Country Challenge brings.
